Bayou Cane Civil Service Board
The Bayou Cane Fire Protection District has a three member Civil Service Board appointed by the governing body. Members of the Civil Service Board are each appointed for three year terms.

Duties of the Civil Service Board include:

Represent the public interest in matters of personnel administration concerning fire and police employees.

Advise and assist the appointing authority and governing body as to maintenance and improvement of personnel standards and administration.

Advise and assist all classified employees.

Make such investigations and determinations as required.

Make such rules as necessary to conduct the business of the board.

Make and adopt a classification plan appropriate for the needs of the jurisdiction.

Make such reports, as required or requested, to the governing body.
