Bayou Cane Civil Service Board

The Bayou Cane Fire Protection District has a three member Civil Service Board appointed by the governing body. Members of the Civil Service Board are each appointed for three year terms.

Duties of the Civil Service Board include:

  • Represent the public interest in matters of personnel administration concerning fire and police employees.

  • Advise and assist the appointing authority and governing body as to maintenance and improvement of personnel standards and administration.

  • Advise and assist all classified employees.

  • Make such investigations and determinations as required.

  • Make such rules as necessary to conduct the business of the board.

  • Make and adopt a classification plan appropriate for the needs of the jurisdiction.

  • Make such reports, as required or requested, to the governing body.
